The Università di Milano-Bicocca hosts an international Seminar on communication and violence against women

Daniela Cherubini, Sveva Magariagga and Diana Fernández Romero, members of the i+d project team “The resignification of the woman-victim on social networking sites: implications for the construction of vulnerability and resistance in online activism”, organised the international Seminar “Male violence against women: social communication and representations. Case studies in Italy, Spain and France”. The meeting was held on 12th June 2017 at the Università di Milano-Bicocca, and Milan’s Interuniversity Research Center “Gender Cultures” and the Department of Sociology and Social Research, University of Milan-Bicocca, participated in its organization. Bailey Gerrits, from Queen’s University, Canada, also participated in the seminar.
In this context, the campaigns against gender violence in Spain, Italy and France were compared. The media praxis in these three countries when reporting on gender-based violence was also reflected upon.
