In the context of the XII edition of the Festival “La violenza illustrata” celebrated in Bologna during November around gender violence, the book by the researchers Chiara Cretella (Università di Bologna) and Diana Fernández Romero (Rey Juan Carlos University) Parla con lei. Dibattiti sulla violenza contro le donne tra Italia e Spagna was presented. The book, edited by the anti-violence centre of Bologna Casa delle donne per non subire violenza with the support of the Emilia-Romagna region, maps the current public debate around gender violence in both countries. It is a volume of 325 pages with a wide variety of approaches to the problem, and an appendix of interviews with Italian activists who fight against gender violence.
The text addresses the question of what are the central themes of the public debate and the movement against violence against women in Italy and Spain and exposes the responses that the two countries put forward. The book offers a comparison that is useful and paradigmatic to indicate directions of work and to illustrate good praxis, with particular reference to the world of communication, giving voice to those who have worked and engaged in activism around the phenomenon for years.
The book can be purchased through the website of the Association Dry-Art, collaborator in the edition of the book: http://www.dry-art.com
