Yolanda Melgar Pernías is PhD in Hispanic-American literature from University College Dublin. She has worked as a Spanish lecturer at this institution, as well as a doctoral assistant in Spanish and Hispanic-American language and literature at the University of South Bohemia (Czech Republic) and at the University of Innsbruck (Austria). Since 2012 she works as a lecturer in literature at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Her areas of research include, among others, the narrative of contemporary Latin American women writers, gender studies and the interrelation between literature and photography.
